XS Walks the Route for Carnival

Walking the Route with XSThe one thing you can say about the LucianCarnival crew after today is that we are dedicated. It does take some dedication to get off our beds at five in the morning to join XS Energy for their first in a series of 'Walk the Route' for Carnival. About what I estimate to be thirty revelers showed up at the Caribbean Cinemas parking lot to walk the proposed carnival route from our starting point past the Castries market, left onto Jeremie Street, right onto Chisel Street, right onto Micoud Street, right onto Bridge Street and finally heading back up to the Caribbean Cinemas.

Just about two hours of walking with no music, no rum and no bacchanal. We did have sugar cane and coconuts at the end of the walk. If we could make it then I am sure that the revelers are in for a real treat on Carnival Monday especially given the added incentives that were missing today. I am not so sure that most will make it back on Carnival Tuesday however. That is unless they take advantage of the opportunity given by XS Energy to 'Walk the Route'.

I believe that other bands can take the initiative and find innovative ways to get their revelers ready for Carnival. There are only five or six Sundays left before the Parade of the Bands and eleven registered bands. If we all are going to get a chance to 'Walk the Route' then we may need to do it together.

Good going XS….I will see you guys next Sunday.
